The Ohio Statehouse is a Civil War era building in Columbus, Ohio and the center of democracy in the state. As one of the nation's finest examples of Greek revival architecture, the capitol looks especially festive during the holidays with a 2-story tree in the Atrium featuring ornaments and candles replicating the decorations of the 19th century. The interior stairs are draped with greenery adorned with fruit and ribbon to celebrate the season. Stunning wreaths throughout the building and adorning the outside add the perfect finishing touch.
Every year, an official Ohio Statehouse ornament is produced from the inspiration of an Ohio artist's interpretation of the Statehouse. The 2014 Statehouse Holiday Ornament is made from the original art by Jan Krebs of Camden, Ohio. It has a transparent quality to it that allows the lights on the tree to shine through.
